Kealie Vogel

Kealie Vogel received a Master’s in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences in 2021.  Her graduate research focused on landowner reactions to the construction of oil pipelines in Illinois. Kealie is currently a Scientist at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology. Previously, she held positions at the Prairie Research Institute and the Illinois Commerce Commission

Rebecca Laurent

Rebecca Laurent received a Master’s in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences in 2021. Her graduate research explored the criminalization of protest against the fossil fuel industry in the United States.  Rebecca is pursuing a PhD in sociology and human ecology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Anna Sveinsdóttir completed a post-doc with the lab between 2019-2021. She examined oil pipeline regulation in Illinois, Iowa, and Louisiana, contributing to multiple publications and grants. Anna is currently a Senior Researcher in the Environmental Research Group at the Nordland Research Institute in Norway.

Emily Guske

Emily Guske received a Master’s in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and Urban Planning in 2023. As a dual-degree M.S. student in NRES and Urban Planning, Emily’s research focused on the contentious politics of the Dakota Access Pipeline in Iowa. She additionally completed the graduate minor in Gender and Women’s Studies (GWS). Emily is currently working as a Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist at the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center, Prairie Research Institute.

Shannon Anderson

Shannon Anderson received a Master’s in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences in 2023. Her research examined the spatial dimensions of energy politics in Illinois’ energy transition, focusing in particular on solar and wind energy. Shannon is currently working with the National Renewable Energy Lab.
